Halloween Edition – DIY Monster using Insect Shield Romper

Halloween is right around the corner and KidzStuff® has a cute and spooky DIY Monster costume for your little one! Take a look below at our do-it-yourself monster costume.

We used the KidzStuff Insect Shield® Romper. If you live in an area where little critters like mosquitoes and fleas are prevalent around fall season, then take advantage of this romper! With built-in protection, the Insect Shield Romper protects your baby or toddler from insects, including those with insect-borne diseases. The protection stays on the fabric, doesn’t get on your baby’s skin and is completely odorless!

Without further a due, let’s begin the DIY! Beware of the monster toddlers… beware!

Materials (most materials can be purchased at your local crafts store or dollar store)

  1. KidzStuff’s Insect Shield Romper – green color (also available in yellow)
  2. A pack of felt
  3. A pair of scissors
  4. A permanent marker
  5. White crayon or chalk
  6. Fabric glue (non-toxic)
  7. A water bottle and other round object (to be able to draw perfect circles for the eyes)

Instructions

Step 1: Grab a piece of white felt and a round object to be able to draw a perfect large circle. Place the round object on top of the white felt and draw the shape of a circle. Using a pair of scissors cut out the shape and leave aside.

Step 2: Grab a piece of blue felt and a water bottle. Place the water bottle on top of the blue felt and draw the shape of a medium-sized circle. Using a pair of scissors cut out the shape and leave aside.

Step 3: Last circle, promise! Grab a piece of black felt and use your fabric glue to draw a perfect tiny circle. Place the fabric glue on top of the black felt and draw the shape of a circle. Using a pair of scissors cut out the shape and leave aside. You’ve got a complete eye!

Step 4: Using the fabric glue, glue the black circle on to the blue circle. Then, glue the blue circle on to the white circle. Once dry, glue the eye on to the middle of the Insect Shield Romper. Set aside for 10 minutes to dry.

Step 5: While that’s drying, grab a piece of red felt and draw the shape of a triangular looking mouth. Try to make the edges more round rather than pointy. Once drawn, grab your pair of scissors and cut out the shape. Place aside.

Step 6: Grab your used piece of white felt and draw four to five triangles. These will be the teeth. Once drawn, grab your pair of scissors and cut out. Then glue on to the red felt.

Step 7: Using the fabric glue, glue the teeth on to the edge of the triangular mouth. Then, glue the mouth a few inches below the eye on the Insect Shield Romper. Set aside for some additional minutes to fully dry.

You’ve completed the DIY Monster costume for your baby! Cost-efficient, fun and easy to do, this DIY will have all your neighbors wanting to give your little one extra treats during Trick or Treating.
